A short aside about us: We're a trans woman, and we are mainly a motorcycle mechanic, musician, and seamstress. But lately we have been learning about web development and systems administration! Its been really fun and a lot of effort, but after we got our old forum up and running on our own, we decided to branch out into more interesting stuff, like a matrix deployment :3 We are plural, but we like presenting in large online spaces as a singular fursona.
Our fursona is CZ! She's a red wolf (canis rufus) that spent a lot of time living out in the wild and on the streets, but recently became a little bit more civilized and is trying to get by in more "normal" society. A lot like us, lol :3 Other than being a vocalist for her band, she spends a lot of her time lurking in crappy dive bars and punk venues. She's extremely protective of her friends and found family, lovingly referred to as her pack.
She's a member of a critically endangered species- There are only around 270 in captive breeding programs and barely more than a dozen out in the wild. The red wolf once had a range that encompassed all of the south eastern US and then all the way up to Pennsylvania(!), but as an effect of colonization and rampant, unregulated trapping programs, they are at extreme risk of exctiction! Without these wolves, we are not only depriving the world of a beautiful animal (and our sona!), we are also depriving massive swaths of our forests and fields of their only apex predators, causing overpopulation of herbivorse leading to diseases, starvation, and the slow destruction of our forests.
